Brazilian exchange student Vitor Celestino was the guest speaker at Effingham Noon Rotary's meeting February 6.

(VITOR CELESTINO)

Vitor is in the United States as an inbound student through Rotary's Youth Exchange Program.  He's staying with the Alan Whitt family and is attending Altamont Community High School.  It's an interesting experience, in that the Whitts' daughter Jennifer was an outbound exchange student to France.

Vitor said he has appreciated the openness of local residents in welcoming him to the area and in asking about him and his background.  He said he doesn't have a particular destination in the United States in mind, but has a desire to see as much as he can while he's here.
