The National Weather Service is indicating an interesting weather pattern is possible Today.

Here's the latest outlook from the Weather Service, including the timing of around noon for storms in our area...

A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms developed across Iowa overnight and is expected to slide southeastward through much of central and southeast Illinois this morning into this afternoon. The wind threat with these storms has increased, now up to 60mph expected. This could cause significant damage to trees, power lines, and other items not secured down. Hail the size of ping pong balls and isolated tornadoes are also possible.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the region until 3 pm today.

Hot and humid conditions will develop ahead of the storms on Tuesday, with areas along and southeast of I-70 potentially seeing heat index readings exceeding 100 degrees before the storms arrive by early afternoon.
