Effingham City-County 911 board members Tuesday got the numbers on city and county 911 calls for the past three months.

The numbers hadn't been available for the early part of the year. System Administrator Jodi Moomaw reported there were 7,895 calls to the county 911 PSAP as opposed to 6,328 to the city 911 PSAP.

The 911 Board approved an agreement with Mediacom for the sale of a building by the communication tower along US Route 40 between Effingham and Teutopolis. 911 had no use for the building.

The Board also appointed new city police chief Jason McFarland as secretary/treasurer, succeeding former police chief Jeff Fuesting.
