Early Sunday Morning Crash in Clay County

State police investigated an early Sunday morning crash in Clay County.

The crash happened at 1:52am on Clay County Road 700 North, a half-mile east of US Route 45.

Police report 22-year-old Logan Stone of Flora was westbound when he lost control of his vehicle and swerved off the roadway to the right. The car struck several trees and a utility pole, overturned, and came to rest on the north side of of the roadway.

Stone's passenger, 23-year-old Zachary Horath of Flora, was injured and was transported via ambulance to Clay County Hospital in Flora. 

Stone was cited for improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and obstructing a police officer.
