It’s “Back to the Future” for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Effingham County and you're invited!

Orgnaizers say you're invited to take along your friends and family members, sign up a team and join them for this year's Relay kickoff on February 5 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1301 Avenue of Mid America, in Effingham.

“Back to the Future is the theme for 2013 and we’re going to have a lot of fun with it,” said event co-chair Ron Mietzner, “Everyone is invited. Bring your ideas, sign up a team, eat some great food, make some new friends and learn how you can help save lives faster and celebrate more birthdays.”

Individuals of all ages are encouraged to sign up a team, learn more about Relay For Life and enjoy the food, fun and maybe win some prizes. The kick off will begin at 6:00 p.m. and wrap up at 8:00 p.m.

“Please join us,” added Mietzner. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. And, if you don’t have a team, we can help you find one to join.

This year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Effingham County will be held on July 12 at Teutopolis Junior High School in Teutopolis. Volunteers are needed to help plan and put together the event. Help is needed in areas such as recruiting teams, logistics, and entertainment activities.
