Man Found Dead in Rural Fayette County

A Vandalia man was found dead in a wooded area of rural Fayette County Monday morning.

The body of 22-year-old Justin Wyatt was found near the intersection of County Roads 800N and 300E.  Wyatt was reported missing early Sunday morning by his family.  A search team was being organized Monday morning when Wyatt's brother found his body.  Wyatt was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:40am Monday.

An autopsy was performed Monday evening in Effingham.  It's believed Wyatt died of hypothermia sometime on Saturday.

The case remains under investigation by Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen.
