Dieterich School Board Reorganizes Following 2019 Election

Dieterich school board members reorganized in the wake of last week's election.

 

The Board recognized Dan Shadle, who completed a four-year term. He was given a plaque to commemorate his time on the Board. He did not seek re-election, and no one else ran for the seat.

Appointment of Shadle's replacement will come at the Board's May 13 meeting. Anyone interested in serving on the Board should submit a letter of interest to Superintendent Cary Jackson.

Meanwhile, the Board chose officers for the next term, including President Cory Niebrugge, Vice President Doug Baxter, and Secretary Charity Bohnhoff. Also, Doug Baxter was appointed as Dieterich's representative on the EIASE Board, with Thad Goebel appointed alternate. The Board also appointed Rae Lyn Schmidt as District Treasurer.

The Board agreed to allow an unlimited number of Dance Team participants for the upcoming school year, and approved the fee schedule for the upcoming year.

Board members accepted the resignation of Ryan Repking as high school Scholar Bowl coach; hired Brandi Wente, Hunter Kinnison and Cory Gephart as summer workers; hired Ryan Wohltman was junior-senior high school teacher for next school year; and agreed to advertise for these positions for next year; Special Education teacher, elementary teacher, three elementary aides, high school Scholar Bowl coach, and bus driver.

Superintendent Jackson reported that the After School Program continues to be successful and to support itself financially, and reported that the District branding project is progressing, and that drafts of new athletic and academic logos have been created for review.
