Six Effingham High School band and chorus students have been selected for the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Festival, which will be held this week in Peoria.
These students were selected for the district ensembles in November, then scored high enough to advance to the state level. This is the highest honor a high school musician can receive. The very top students from throughout Illinois rehearse and perform on Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center.
Band students selected include Amanda Grove-flute, Shayla Bozdech-oboe, Jenna Bingham-oboe, and Aaron McDevitt-trumpet. Chorus students selected include Daejah Hawthorne and Evan Jennings.
Chorus students are under the direction of Jamie Jennings and Deb Price, and band students are under the direction of Brad Wallace.
