Injury Accident on I-70 Causes Traffic Delays

The heavy snowfall was a contributing factor in a Saturday moring accident that backed up traffic on I 57/70 south and westbound in Effingham.

State Police report at 6:29 Saturday morning a semi driven by Tarina K. Stone, 38 of Kansas City, Kansas was travelling on I-70 eastbound near mile post 98, approximately two miles east of Effingham. Stone lost control of the semi and swerved off the roadway to the right, struck the ditch, and a fence. The semi came to a rest on the south side of the roadway.

Stone was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Stone was ticketed For Driving to Fast For Conditions.
