Winners Announced in Effingham Holiday Lights Competition

The City of Effingham Convention & Visitors Bureau is thrilled with the amount of participation in the fifth annual holiday light competition Holiday Lights & Festive Sights! Over 1,000 votes were received in the past week.

The winners of the Holiday Lights & Festive Sights competition are the following:

Classic Christmas: Mallory & Bryce Weber at 1305 Cliffview Drive
Clark Griswold: Hayley & Danny Lankford at 604 North Main Street
Reason for the Season: Steve & Marlene Pickett at 703 N. Cardinal
Business: Jansen Heating & A/C (donating their $250 winnings to CASA of Effingham County).

Each winner will receive $250 and a sign to be displayed in their yard through January 2, 2019 designating them as the winner of their category in the competition.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau would like to thank everyone who participating in the lighting competition this year. Whether you nominated yourself or a friend, made the top three or just voted for your favorites, they appreciate you getting involved. The CVB hopes everyone has a Merry Christmas and takes time to visit all of the homes and businesses who helped light up the City of Effingham this year! They look forward to bringing this competition to you again next Christmas season.
