Dieterich school board members Monday accepted a grant of more than $18,000 from Illinois Energy Now.  The grant is part of a rebate program from the agency that focuses on providing funds for energy reduction projects.

The Dieterich district underwent an energy savings project during the past summer.  Several measures were taken during the project designed to save energy including new boilers, an upgraded HVAC system, new roofing and a few new windows.

The Board heard a proposal from Western Illinois University to place a wind monitoring tower on Dieterich district property.  The Board and the Administration both want more information about the project and the matter will be revisited at the February meeting.

Junior-Senior High School Principal Kevin Haarman reported that the Dieterich Holiday Tournament netted more than $4,400 and that the proceeds were shared with the participants.  Newton won the boy's title and CHBC won the girl's title.

The Board approved the FFA ski trip to Paoli Peaks, Indiana and approved a maternity leave for Nikki Earnest when the birth occurs.
