Cowden-Herrick school board members discussed how to use the revenue derived from the Shelby County 1% sales tax when they meet earlier this month. No action was taken on how to use the funds.

Cowden-Herrick Superintendent Seth Schuler presented some school improvement ideas, and shared that he's in the process of reviewing school safety routes.

Action on an electric supplier for Cowden-Herrick Grade School was tabled until the November meeting; a student was expelled for the remainder of the school year but given the option of attending alternative education; and a memorandum of understanding was approved with the Cowden-Herrick Teachers Association adding a stipend for the Science Club position.

The Board granted a personal time request from Jay Huddleston for November 6th thru the 8th; accepted the resignation of Devin Friesland as high school custodian; and hired Kevin Cutler as high school custodian.
