Renewed efforts are afoot to legalize medical marijuana in Illinois. The House introduced a medical marijuana bill during yesterday's first legislative session.

Bill sponsor Representative Louis Lang of Skokie says national data shows the majority of Americans think marijuana should be made available for patients if prescribed by a doctor. Under the proposed legislation, patients would be able to get medical-grade marijuana from state-regulated dealers for use in their own home.
