Most of Illinois' Medical Regulators are About to get Shown the Door

Most of Illinois' medical regulators will receive pink slips sometime next week. The Chicago Tribune is reporting the Illinois' Department of Financial Regulation will terminate 18 of the the 26 medical regulators hired by the state in an effort to close up a nine-million-dollar shortfall.
Doctors and medical experts around the state reacted with alarm over the announcement adding the firings would drastically affect licensing and discipline of Illinois physicians. Some hospital officials say the moves could even cause staffing and training problems around the state.
