The memory of Dave and Dorothy Coslet was strong at Friday afternoon's dedication of the new playground area at Altamont Grade School.

Kathy Corder, who was the caretaker of the Coslet estate, was present for the ceremony. She shared about the Coslets and Superintendent Steve Mayerhofer shared about ways the students could show their gratitude and appreciation for the donation through how they behave and how they help care for the grade school and playground.

Grade school principal Doug Hill said the playground is "already appreciated" and is being well-used by his students.

Kathy Corder, who knew many of the grade school students from her operation of Frog Pond Nursery School in Altamont, had a good time with the kids on the playground and even took a trip down one of the slides before the celebration ended. She spoke about the Coslets, their success in business in the Altamont community, and their desire to help others. She said Dorothy Coslet once shared, "all we have is money", and that fueled their desire to help others through the success they experienced.

In addition to school officials and Corder and her husband Dave, Kenny Mercier was on hand for the ceremony. Mercier worked at Carriage Inn in Altamont for the Coslets for more than 30 years.
