The role of religious faith in the history of Effingham County will be the topic this Thursday evening in a program sponsored by the Effingham County Genealogical and Historical Society and the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association.

Local historian Delaine Donaldson will focus on the topic of faith in the county's history by telling the story of Effingham's First Christian Church's 145 years of existence.  Combining both historical and sociological approaches, Donaldson will discuss the role of religion in culture and the ways in which faith contributes to the county's character.

The presentation will begin at 7pm Thursday in the Effingham County Museum, the old Courthouse in downtown Effingham.  The free presentation is open to the public.
