Effingham County Coroner Duane Guffey has issued rulings on two deaths in the county.

Cain Alexander "Alex" Daughtery of Altamont died on November 10 after being struck by a train as he was walking on the tracks.  Toxicology test results are back on the 17-year-old Daughtery and all results were negative.

The death has been ruled an accident.

Ashla R. Owens of Effingham was found dead in her home on October 8.  Toxicology test results are back and indicate the 20-year-old Owens died due to a heroin overdose.
