The 2018 St. Anthony Parish Picnic will be held this weekend in Effingham.

Hours for this year's event are Saturday from 5pm to midnight and Sunday from noon to midnight on the grounds of St. Anthony High School.

A variety of games for "kids of all ages" are planned, along with an outdoor mass at 4:30pm Saturday on the soccer field (take along your lawn chairs), and kickball tourney at 1pm Sunday.

The Bulldog Challenge will be run Saturday morning at 8:00 at St. Anthony High School, but registration will close at 7:30am. The cost is $25. Proceeds will be donated to St. Anthony athletics. Make checks payable to St. Anthony Booster Club. There will be a 10K run, 5K walk and run, and a two-mile fun walk.

Sunday dinner will be available from 11am to 6pm in the high school multi-purpose room. On the menu is chicken or roasted pork either barbecue or plain and a loaded baked potato for $9 for adults and $4 for kids (carryouts will be available).

A prize drawing is scheduled. The grand prize is the winner's choice of a 2018 Chevrolet Trax, 2018 Buick Encore, 2018 Jeep Renegade, 2018 Ford Fusion, or 2018 Honda Civic, or $15,000 cash. Over 40 prizes will be won.
