Teutopolis village board members Thursday heard from one of the residents cited for a nuisance violation.

Robert and Linda Campbell appeared before the Board to find out what they need to clean up to comply with village guidelines.

Eight or nine residents have been sent notices of the need to clean up their property. The Board will next ask their village attorney to proceed with the next step in getting the cleanups completed.

Also on hand Thursday was a group of residents of August Winds Subdivision and along State Street. They were there because of the ditch along the street that has been deepened to accommodate storm water from the new Prairie View Subdivision. The deeper ditch has the residents concerned that a child or a pet could fall into the ditch while it's full of water. Board members agreed to research the cost of tiling the ditch to alleviate the situation.

The Board also finalized the amounts of village appropriations for the new fiscal year so the appropriations ordinance can be voted on at the next meeting. Board members also paid bills related to the development of Prairie View Subdivision totaling about $230,000.
