Decatur resident Keirsean Bond has been found guilty of first degree murder and attempted first degree murder in the November shooting death of Todd Feldkamp of Effingham. Bond was also found guilty of armed robbery.

The jury, which returned its verdicts at 4:15pm Thursday after receiving the case for deliberations that morning, said the prosecution did not prove Bond was armed during the incident. Prosecutors indicated throughout this week's trial that Bond did not fatally shoot Feldkamp nor wound Feldkamp's friend, Scottie Bone of Effingham. Police are still searching for the shooter.

However, the prosecution contends that Bond set up a drug buy involving Feldkamp and Bone with the intent of robbing the two once they reached the scene of the drug deal, and that his actions led to the shootings and Feldkamp's death.

Bond is to be sentenced July 11 in Decatur. The 26-year-old faces up to 20 to 60 years in prison.

Bone, who admitted in testimony to the sale of drugs, faces a court appearance related to drugs in Effingham County Circuit Court later this month.
