Things are getting back to normal, but action on the sports courts at the Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex was disrupted Wednesday night...by water.

A sprinkler head was broken off by someone playing with a ball on one of the courts, causing a release of all of the water stored in a holding tank at the Complex onto the courts.

Effingham firefighters were summoned to the scene by the sudden drop in water pressure. Workman Complex crews were at work late Wednesday night and a Servpro crew was called in to remove the remaining water to limit any damage to the courts. The remainder of the Complex remained in operation and is open today.
