Fire has destroyed a house in Edgewood.

Edgewood Bi-County Fire Protection District firefighters were called to the Dillon Beccue residence about 11pm Monday. The house is located on Oak Street in Edgewood. Beccue was home at the time of the fire, but was able to escape uninjured.

Assistant Fire Chief Jason Bowen said the fire might have originated in or around the dryer, but the fire damage was too intense for a representative of the State Fire Marshal's Office to make a definitive ruling as to a cause.

Bowen said firefighters were on scene until about 1:30am Tuesday, but were then called back to the scene at 5:30am and were there until about 8:30am.

Edgewood firefighters were assisted by fire companies from Farina, Montrose, St. Peter, Altamont and St. Elmo.
