Arrests on Drug Charges in Area

Local authorities made arrests over the weekend on drug charges.

Effingham County sheriff's deputies arrested 25-year-old Scottie Bone of Effingham on a warrant charging failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of controlled substance. Bone was released after posting $1,575 bond.

Effingham city police arrested 27-year-old Adrian Mitchel of St. Elmo on counts including possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic needle and a warrant out of Fayette County charging theft. Mitchell was in jail at last report.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 22-year-old Michael Clarkson of Altamont on charges including DUI drugs and two traffic counts. He was in jail at last report.
