Teutopolis school board members Monday continued their discussion of renovating or replacing portions of their high school building.

The Board also scheduled a special meeting for 6pm on Monday, January 29 to discuss all facilities in the district and high school building plans.

Board members following a closed session voted to expel a district student for two calendar years. The expulsion was due to the student "having committed a violation of school rules amounting to gross disobedience or misconduct".

The Board approved a tax levy for the new fiscal year with an increase of about 8.15%. Counting bonds, the increase would be about 7.72%. Board members also purchased a used 2019 65-passenger bus for $79,611 plus trade.

The Board approved a resolution regarding honorable dismissal of a support staff member. The action concerned a one-hour reduction of time for a cook. In other personnel action, Teutopolis board members hired Savannah Gebben and Julia Henderson as teacher aides at the grade school for next school year through the high school D.O. program, and hired Glen Kinkelaar as a fulltime bus driver effective January 3.

There was also discussion of technology. The Board asked the technology department to look into the feasibility of their own fiber line into the district.
