Crash w/One Injured in Effingham Friday

An Edgewood woman was injured in a crash in Effingham Friday morning.

City police say the crash happened just before 8am on North 3rd Street at the interstate ramp. A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Ashley Holtz of Edgewood turned in front of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Mary Willenborg of Effingham.

Holtz was injured and was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Holtz was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.

There was also a crash resulting in an injury on Tuesday afternoon, the 5th, at 5:22pm north of the intersection of 3rd and Evergreen. Police say a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Patrick Martelli of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Teresa Hamilton of Effingham.

Hamilton was injured, but declined treatment. No citations were issued.
