The Cumberland school board acted on some personnel matters at their recent meeting.

The Board accepted the resignation of assistant high school girls basketball coach Emma Baker, effective immediately. The position has been posted.

Board members also hired Sydney Tipton as middle school head girls track coach, and agreed to post the position of assistant middle school girls track coach.

The Board also hired Ann Gentry as a cook, and approved volunteer coach George Strong once screenings and paperwork are completed.

Board members also heard from member Anita Hayden regarding the transportation committee's recommendation on a five-year bus lease. The committee recommended leasing 15 buses to replace the current leased fleet. The current agreement expires at the end of the current school year. The committee recommends leasing seven gasoline and eight propane-powered buses.
