A Texas trucker was injured in an overnight crash in the area.

State police report 57-year-old Carlos Salcedo Camarillo of El Paso was injured in a crash that occurred at 11:50pm Tuesday on I-70, a mile west of Casey.

Police say Camarillo was eastbound when he dropped a cigarette. While attempting to retrieve it, Camarillo lost control of his rig, which entered the median. Camarillo attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the roadway, but it overturned. The rig re-entered the median, coming to rest on the driver's side.

Camarillo was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. He was cited for improper lane usage.
