Austin Robinson has been hired as boys varsity basketball coach of the Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets.

Robinson will succeed Cody McCollum, who resigned at the close of the past season but will remain a teacher in the Stewardson-Strasburg district.

Robinson is a graduate of Neoga High School who also served several seasons as an assistant coach at Teutopolis High School. He does not work for either the Stew-Stras or Windsor school district. The Windsor board approved Robinson's hiring the same night as the Stew-Stras board took action.

The Stew-Stras board also hired Craig Moffitt to teach high school Social Studies and to serve as assistant girls coach of the Lady Hatchets. He served as varsity girls coach at Arthur prior to his hiring at Stew-Stras.

The Board also hired Jill Spour as part-time Industrial Technology teacher, re-employed coaches and sponsors for the coming school year, and approved non-certified staff wages for the coming year. The amount of the increases varies, but everyone received an increase.

Board members contracted with Christy Elder as school psychologist and Special Education Coordinator, approved renewing the junior high co-op agreement with the Windsor district, and approved summer facility repairs and upgrades that will include sealing and recoating the front parking area, and purchase of a floor scrubber and a water heater. Also approved was a Horticulture class landscaping proposal for work in the front of the building by the gym lobby that serves as an outdoor seating area for students.

There was no news receiving a Pre-K for All grant proposal, but the Board accepted a $13,000 grant for vocational program technology.

Superintendent Michelle Lindenmeyer reported that restroom renovation would be taking place beginning May 26th so the building will be closed except for the gyms this summer. The administrative offices will move to the junior high school while the work is underway.
