Final AHA Film Festival Will Be Saturday Night

The friendship of teachers Craig Lindvahl and Joe Fatheree has not only borne many Emmy Award-winning film productions, it also led to the creation of a Multi-Media class involving students from Effingham High School, where Fatheree teaches, and Teutopolis High School, where Lindvahl taught before becoming the first instructor of the Effingham County CEO Class.

That friendship, and educational partnership, will be celebrated during the 12th, and final, AHA Film Festival. The Festival is set for this Saturday night at the Effingham Performance Center. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the evening will begin at 7pm. Tickets may be purchased at Effingham High School for $5 each.

The AHA Festival, which originally featured the works of those Multi-Media students, will now also feature original music and spoken verse. As Fatheree puts it, there are many ways to tell a story.

There are plans early in the evening for Lindvahl and Fatheree to do some reminiscing about the start of the Multi Media effort and how it's grown since that time.

There is also some closure involved in the final AHA Festival in that the Multi Media class is in transition. Longtime EHS Art instructor Charlie Huber will co-teach the class with Fatheree next school year as Fatheree moves to a more districtwide role as Director of Creativity and Innovation.

Some of the best works of previous AHA festivals will be a part of the evening along with the works created by this year's students.

Fatheree has said the evening will be a celebration and has said it's a chance to "put a beautiful bow on the package" that is AHA.
