Bicyclist Injured When Struck by Vehicle

A bicyclist was injured Thursday morning when struck by a vehicle.

Effingham City Police report the bicyclist, 19-year-old Briton Spindler of Watson, was crossing the street at the crosswalk at the intersection of Fayette and Cherry when her bicycle was struck by a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Jennifer Lohman of Effingham. The incident occurred shortly before 8am.

Spindler was injured and was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Lohman was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian or cyclist at a crosswalk.
