The North Clay School Board Wednesday made changes to its administrative lineup due to an impending departure.

The Board accepted the resignation of Mark Storck as Grades PreK-8 Principal, effective February 28, as he is leaving for another position outside the district.

Jody Aldrich was reassigned as Interim Grades PreK-5 Principal the remainder of the 2016-17 school year, in addition to her previous duties as District Coordinator. Meanwhile, Keith Price, who has been serving as Grades 9-12 Principal, will now also serve as Interim Grades 6-8 principal through the end of the school year. The Board also adjusted the compensation for Jody Aldrich and Price accordingly due to their additional duties.

Superintendent Monty Aldrich took time at Wednesday's meeting to recognize the work of North Clay High School administrative assistant Arnita Fender, who has digitized student records from 1926 to the present. Fender has worked on the project for more than two years. Aldrich said access to records is greatly improved due to Fender's work.

Aldrich also commended those involved in the Military Appreciation Day at the boys basketball game last Friday night. The chorus and band performed, and the basketball team, dance team and cheerleaders all brought veterans or military service personnel to the game to be recognized. Clay City teams also participated.

The Board agreed to advertise for bids for school construction projects with a pre-bid meeting on February 23 and a bid opening on March 8. Price presented the Board an update on the district's situation concerning the ability to provide dual credit courses. No action was taken on the matter.

Board members set end-of-year dates. High school Baccalaureate and graduation are set for Saturday, May 13 with Baccalaureate at 2pm followed by graduation at 3pm. 8th grade promotion will be held at 6:30pm Tuesday, May 16. All of the ceremonies will be held in the high school gym. It was also agreed to continue a contract with Healy Brothers Mowing for the coming year.
