Illinois taxpayers have dished out nearly 23-million dollars to pay state workers to sit at home.  More than two thousand workers continued to collect paychecks while on administrative leave over the past five years, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Some of them still received their scheduled pay raises.  Governor Quinn's office told the paper they carefully monitor paid leave but the workers are entitled to due process when they're the subject of an investigation.
