A Minnesota woman was injured in a crash on the interstate Friday afternoon.

30-year-old Jennifer Steffles of Minneapolis was southbound on I-57 near the Watson-Mason interchange when she attempted to change lanes. State police say Steffles realized another vehicle was in her blind spot. Steffles overcorrected and traveled back through the driving lane and off the roadway. Her SUV then struck a guardrail face and bridge support, coming to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.

Steffles was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of what were termed minor injuries. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, which happened just after 4pm.
