The singing of God Bless America has become a seventh-inning stretch mainstay at Major League Baseball games, and today Effingham Junior High School band and chorus students had the opportunity to "knock one out of the park" with their rendition of the tune at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

The Cardinals (perhaps inspired by the great work of these local kids!) scored three runs in the ensuing half-inning on the way to a 4-0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
