Neoga School Board Approves Busing Request

Neoga school board members have given the okay to busing students to a homework help group at Grace United Methodist Church in Neoga.
Reverend Debbie Reese of Grace Church presented the plan to the Board at this month's meeting. The Board also approved a separate busing request from St. Mary's Church in Neoga.
The Board met new teachers Daniel Marsh and Amy Rigney, and heard from Coach Lacy Althoff and assistant coach Kim Romack about the junior high girls basketball program.
Board members approved the fiscal year budget for 12-13, approved the resignation of Carol Hill as bus driver...hired Cheryl Welch as a bus driver...hired Jim Sudkamp as a bus driver...agreed to transfer Allison Gleeney from Title One aide to teacher...and transferred Lisa Noffke from Title One aide to teacher and authorized Superintendent Charles Castle to advertise for a Title One director and Title One teacher. The Board also accepted the family and medical leave act request fromm Gina Koester.
Neoga board members voted 4-3 to allow participation in an individual golf program for the school year...heard from Castle about the Eastern Illinois Area Special Education joint agreement...heard that one parcel of ground was transferred to the Neoga district and one was transferred out...and responded to a nurse's request by deciding to leave the policy as is.
