A Clay County man has been sentenced to federal prison time on methamphetamine charges.

Louisville resident Richard H. Barber, 49, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison, three years' supervised release following his imprisonment, and fined $400.

Barber had previously pleaded guilty to two counts in a federal indictment. One count charged that from June through October 28, 2014, Barber conspired with others to manufacture a mixture and substance containing meth. The other count charged that on October 28, 2014, Barber possessed meth-making materials.

The investigation in the case was conducted by the Flora Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff's Department, and the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Clay County State's Attorney's Office.
