Teutopolis village board members Wednesday amended the village's golf cart ordinance.

The amendment adds a second location where golf carts will be permitted to cross US 40, or Main Street. Carts can currently cross at Pearl Street; the second location will be Columbus Street.

Also Wednesday, the Teutopolis board purchased a three-phase generator from Pals Electric for just over $15,000, and reviewed a revised dog ordinance. The measure is designed to address dogs running loose, barking dogs, and dogs relieving themselves on private property. The measure will go back to the village attorney for final revisions.

The Board hired a firm to codify village ordinances for a base price of $7,000; approved bids for street maintenance materials; agreed to close Main Street on June 14 for the annual Knights of Columbus Parade; and authorized Mayor Greg Hess to sign an updated parking lot lease agreement with St. Francis Parish. The agreement allows the Village to locate recycling bins on the parking lot next to Habing's Furniture in exchange for the village maintaining the parking lot.
