Staffing has been restored, 27 employees have returned to work, and the Illinois Tobacco Quitline reopened its phone lines at Noon Wednesday.

The move occurred after Governor Rauner restored $26 million in social service and public health grant funds that were suspended in early April.

The Quitline is a service designed to help smokers quit and reduce by millions the cost of health care. The Quitline is funded by the Master Tobacco Settlement Recovery Fund, not taxpayer dollars.

The Quitline number is 1-866-QUIT-YES. You can also check the Quitline website, which is www.quityes.org.
