Duane Wetherell presented a check for $1,525 to ARC Community Support Systems in memory of his mother, Vi Wetherell.
50 years ago, in 1962, Duane's parents, Bud and Vi Wetherell worked hard to found the agency that is known today as ARC Community Support Systems. ARC spokesman Tonya Blair said, "Bud and Vi saw the need for services for children with developmental disabilities and joined forces with other parents in the same situation to get the ball rolling. The ball has continued to roll and today is a large boulder in our community, providing services to more than 3,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families each year. ARC Community Support Systems is grateful for the memorial donation and carries the deepest gratitude to the Wetherells for their founding mission."
