ACT Scores for St. Anthony High School Class of 2012 Released

ACT scores for the 2012 graduating class of St. Anthony High School in Effingham placed at a 24.8 average, compared to the Illinois average of 20.9 and the national average of 21.1. The composite score reflects test results in the categories of English, Mathematics, Reading and Science.
St. Anthony's average is a result of 46 students out of a class of 49 participating in the ACT exam. The school continued a more than 10-year trend of surpassing state and national average scores on the ACT exam. The 2012 average of 24.8 is also an all-time high for St. Anthony High School.
By course, St. Anthony's average score in English was 24.8 compared to the state average of 20.5...the class score in Mathematics was 25.7 compared to the state average of 21.0...the class score in Reading was 24.1 compared to the state average of 20.7...and the class score in Science was 24.1 compared to the state average of 20.8.
St. Anthony also announced that 98% of its 2012 graduating class has advanced to post-secondary education. The class has received more than $571,000 in academic and athletic scholarships. Of the 49 graduates, 51% are continuing their education at a four-year college, 47% moved onto a two-year college, and 2% have joined the military.
