Another delay in the sentencing hearing for Melly Hofer.

The 35-year-old Hofer pleaded guilty earlier this year to a count of aggravated DUI drugs causing death. The charge stems from a crash near Dutch Lane last December that resulted in the death of a Watson teenager.

Hofer admitted that she was under the influence of three different drugs when driving the vehicle that crossed the centerline of US Route 45 and struck a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Brittany Baker.

The hearing, which was scheduled for this Thursday, has been postponed two weeks, to Thursday, November 6. The continuance was at the request of Anthony Baker, Brittany's father, who requested further time to prepare his victim's impact statement to be presented to the Court. Neither the prosecution nor the defense objected to the request.

The hearing was originally scheduled in September, but had been postponed to this Thursday after the defense asked for a continuance due to Hofer's illness.
