TREC (Trails Recreation Effingham County) is hosting an Open House today at the John and Fran Schultz Bridge.

The Open House will run from 4:30 to 6:30pm, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30pm.

The bridge is a key element of Phase 3 of TREC's trail network project. The 200-foot-long, 30-foot-high bridge will help complete the phase of the network providing access from the City of Effingham to the Lake Sara area.

There will be parking available at the Effingham Performance Center, which is a 2-1/2 mile walk from the bridge, and at Kingwood Estates along Keply Lane, which is .4 miles from the bridge. TREC will have attendants at Kingwood Estates to help with parking. There will also be shuttle service for those who cannot physically make the walk to the bridge.
