Small Fire at Formaggio's

Opening was likely to be delayed today at Formaggio's Pizza on Keller Drive in Effingham after a basketful of laundered towels spontaneously combusted.

The fire burned the towels and melted the basket, but there was no damage to the structure. Still, the fire spread a haze throughout the building, leading to some cleanup before the restaurant can open. The Effingham County Health Department will also complete an inspection before the reopening can occur.

Owners are hoping things will be back to normal for the evening meal trade. They will have carryout and delivery available during the noon hour.
