While attorneys on both sides of the case await the findings of a fitness exam, the murder trial of a Windsor man has been delayed.

20-year-old Thomas Messina is charged with three counts of murder in the January death of Gregory Scott Collins. Firefighters found Collins' body while fighting a fire at his house in Casey.

The defense later asked for Messina to be examined to determine whether an appropriate plea in his case would be guilty but mentally ill or not guilty by reason of insanity.

Messina's trial is now slated to begin January 13 in Clark County Circuit Court. The matter is next due in court for a pre-trial hearing on October 27.

Messina remains in Clark County Jail under $500,000 bond.
