Two people were injured in a crash Monday afternoon on Moccasin Road.

The crash occurred just after 3pm just east of 900th Street. The Effingham County Sheriff's Department reported that a car driven by 22-year-old Tearah Stateler of Effingham attempted to pass a van driven by 22-year-old Kyle Barrow of Palmyra at the same time Barrow began to make a left turn and Stateler's car struck the van. The impact caused the van to end up on its top.

Stateler and Barrow were both injured and were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Stateler was cited for improper overtaking.

The crash blocked the roadway for close to an hour.
