A New York woman has pleaded guilty to a count of prostitution following a multi-agency investigation at a local business.

54-year-old Suncha Kim of Flushing, New York pleaded guilty and was placed on 18 months conditional discharge, meaning if she completes the term successfully, she will have no record. Kim was also fined $500 plus court costs.

The Effingham Police Department received a complaint of prostitution occurring at Star Spa on Keller Drive. City police, with the assistance of the Illinois State Police, Meth Response Team and Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force conducted an undercover operation at the business, leading to Kim's arrest.

A search warrant for the business was executed following the arrest, resulting in the seizure of additional items related to prostitution. It was determined that no one residing or working at the business possessed a valid license to perform massage therapy.

Kim was ordered not to enter Star Spa.
