City Police Investigating Theft of Semi

Effingham city police are investigating the theft of a semi.

The rig owned by Diamond Surface Incorporated of Rogers, Minnesota was taken sometime between 10:15pm Saturday and 5:48am Sunday while parked at 1204 Avenue of Mid America. Police recovered the semi at 2500 North Third Street about 9:11am Sunday.

The semi sustained damage, and approximately $40,000 worth of parts were stolen, including doors, seats, dashboard, air breathers and the main computer.

Police are also looking into a burglary from two buses owned by Ideal Solutions Incorporated of Effingham.

The incident occurred while the buses were parked at 3110 South Banker sometime between 12:30pm and 6:04pm Friday. A Playstation 3 valued at $500 and a stereo system valued at $300 were taken from the first bus, while a five-disc player valued at $400 and a stereo system valued at $500 were taken from the second unit.
