Inclement weather was a factor in a crash north of Effingham Sunday evening.

State police say a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Christopher Nannally of Charleston, Missouri skidded off the roadway in heavy rainfall and struck a construction zone message board.

Nannally was injured, as was his passenger, 25-year-old Darren Van Trease of Chicago. Both were treated at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Nannally was cited for DUI, improper lane usage and no valid insurance.
