Mattoon authorities are seeking home invasion charges against 24-year-old Nicholas J. Jackson and 21-year-old Zachary K. Sapp. Police say the incident occurred about 6am on Saturday, March 15 in the 200 block of South 30th Street in Mattoon. It's alleged Jackson and Sapp were the two masked men brandishing a firearm that broke into an occupied residence, and then proceeded to tie up the family inside. Money was stolen during the incident and the firearm was discharged during the commission of the crime, although no one was shot.

Jackson and Sapp were arrested by Mattoon police and Cumberland County sheriff's deputies after the execution of a search warrant at their Toledo home on Tuesday. They are currently being held at Coles County Jail for the Monday armed robbery of Casey's General Store in Mattoon. Mattoon police say the two are likely to be charged in the Tuesday morning armed robbery of the Econolodge on West Fayette in Effingham.
