Injury Accident on South Banker Monday Evening

A single vehicle accident had traffic on South Banker street backed up significantly Monday evening.

City police report that at about 4:54pm, a vehicle driven by 31-year old Blane Traxler of Effingham left the roadway at the intersection of Banker and Hoffman and struck a light pole owned by Dan Hecht Chevrolet.

Traxler was injured and taken to St. Anthony Memorial Hospital for treatment. She was ticketed for Driving Under the Influence.

City police say other charges are pending as the investigation continues.
